The base has 2 holes and hardware for screwing it to a countertop, etc. Q: Will this fall over if you opt to NOT mount it to the surface and use a cable lock instead? A: No it will not fall over. You lock the tablet into the stand on top of cash drawers. They are not mounted and fell over. Q: Does this stand flip/swivel so customers can sign for their purchase? A: Yes, it will rotate from portrait to landscape also swivel to face the customers.
